I've been a nurse for 17 years, most of them in dialysis at St. Mary's University Hospital in Dundee. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
I take the work seriously, though not myself. Small things matter when someone is frightened.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
