For 37 years I was the home economics teacher at Jacksonville Girls' School. I taught the final-year class and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I ran the science fair after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I garden badly but happily.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
