I taught art at Eastgate Public School in Stellenbosch from 2004 to 2016. Most days I taught first-year students, and I answered every email, even at midnight.
Over the years I had 480 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Chantel
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the old fort, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
What gifts mean to Chantel: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
