Chaminda Senanayake
31 years teaching English literature in Galle
- 🇱🇰 Galle, Southern, Sri Lanka
- Kilimanjaro Middle School
- 2014 to 2023
- English, Sinhala
For nine years I was the English literature teacher at Kilimanjaro Middle School. I taught first-year students and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I garden badly but happily. Inside it, I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.
More about Chaminda
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Chaminda: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
