Chamari Gunawardena
Master of welding, now teaching apprentices
- π±π° Dehiwala, Western, Sri Lanka
- 1983 to 2013
- English
My trade is welding. I opened my own shop in 1983 in Dehiwala and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I never rush a conversation.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Chamari
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
