Chai Surachai Phongsri

History and biology teacher, Khon Kaen

  • 🇹🇭 Khon Kaen, Khon Kaen, Thailand
  • Khon Kaen Academy
  • Since 1986
  • English
I came to teaching late, after working as a waiter, and 40 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else. Over the years I've had 1,480 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile. I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

More about Chai

Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the planetarium, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Chai: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
