I've worked in painting and decorating since 1987. I learned from my mother and passed what I could on to 2,260 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 12 years later for another job.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

What gifts mean to Carlos: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
