Carlos G. Valdez
Master of tiling, now teaching apprentices
- 🇨🇴 Envigado, Antioquia, Colombia
- St. Mary's Workshop
- Since 1979
- Spanish
My trade is tiling. I opened my own shop in 1979 in Envigado and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I take the work seriously, though not myself.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

What gifts mean to Carlos: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
