I coached athletics at Duque de Caxias Swimming Club from 2008 to 2017. Most of my players were between 10 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. My door was open at lunch.
More about Carlos
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Carlos: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
