I've been a nurse for 19 years, most of them in rehabilitation at Hillcrest Maternity Hospital in Baton Rouge. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I'm always reading two books at once.
