Bongani F. Nkosi
Retired social studies teacher from Soweto Secondary School
- 🇿🇦 Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa
- Soweto Secondary School
- 1978 to 2001
- English
I came to teaching late, after working as a night-shift cleaner, and 23 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
I ran the reading group after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I run most mornings.
More about Bongani
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Bongani: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
