Birtukan Saba Lemma

Choir director and singer

  • 🇪🇹 Gondar, Amhara, Ethiopia
  • Gondar Ensemble
  • Since 1986
  • English, Amharic, French
I play traditional drumming and bass. I started in 1986 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness. I teach about 18 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I walk the dog by the river.

What gifts mean to Birtukan: I'd put a gift toward recording a small album.
