Birtukan Aster Fikadu

Choir director and singer

🇪🇹 Mekelle, Tigray, Ethiopia
Mekelle Rosewood Ensemble
Since 2015
English, Amharic

I've played choir direction since 2015, mostly in pubs, churches, weddings and anywhere else that would have me. These days I also teach. My favorite gigs are the small ones where somebody cries a little in the third row.

More about Birtukan

I write my first song when I was 21. It was terrible and I still love it.

What gifts mean to Birtukan: Any gift will help me keep teaching kids who can't afford lessons.
