Bích Oanh Ta

Weaving for 41 years in Hồ Chí Minh City

🇻🇳 Hồ Chí Minh City, Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam
The Hồ Chí Minh City Trades Guild
Since 1985
English, Vietnamese

I've worked in weaving since 1985. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 1,640 apprentices. I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I walk the dog by the river.

More about Bích

Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.

Weaving Shoemaking

What gifts mean to Bích: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
