I coached chess at Duque de Caxias Ashford Youth Club from 2003 to 2013. Most of my players were between 11 and 15, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learned every name in the first week.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.
