I coached rowing at Laval Community Club from 1981 to 2009. Most of my players were between 9 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I answered every email, even at midnight.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
