I've coached cross country at Victory Swimming Club since 2007. Most of my players were between 12 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Beau
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.

What gifts mean to Beau: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
