I coached cross country at Greensboro Andes Boxing Gym from 2012 to 2023. Most of my players were between 10 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Beatriz
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
