I coached badminton at Nairobi Andes Youth Club from 1999 to 2015. Most of my players were between 12 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I answered every email, even at midnight.
More about Beatrice
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
What gifts mean to Beatrice: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
