I've worked in shoemaking from 1982 to 2003. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 1,180 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I like to keep things simple and honest.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
