I coached rowing at Davao City Community Club from 1982 to 2001. Most of my players were between 10 and 15, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I played music while people worked.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
