Barasa Athumani Tumusiime
Choir director and singer
- 🇰🇪 Kasarani, Nairobi, Kenya
- Elmwood Quartet
- 1984 to 2006
- English
I've played tabla from 1984 to 2006, mostly in pubs, churches, weddings and anywhere else that would have me. These days I also teach.
I teach about 12 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
More about Barasa
I wrote my first song when I was 13. It was terrible and I still love it.
What gifts mean to Barasa: Any gift will help me keep teaching kids who can't afford lessons.
