Babatunde Jide Hassan
Master of leatherwork, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria
- 2010 to 2025
- English
I've worked in leatherwork from 2010 to 2025. I learned from my grandfather and passed what I could on to 840 apprentices.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I'm always reading two books at once.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Babatunde
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.

What gifts mean to Babatunde: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.

You fixed our roof in 2013 and charged half what others asked. Greetings from Santarém.
