Ayanda N. Tshabalala
Mathematics teacher at Johannesburg Academy, 2017 to 2025
- 🇿🇦 Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa
- Johannesburg Academy
- 2017 to 2025
- English, Afrikaans
I came to teaching late, after working as a farmhand, and eight years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
I coached the school's volleyball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Ayanda
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Ayanda: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.

You taught me mathematics in 2021 at Johannesburg Academy. I still remember the end-of-term party! Thank you again.

I'm a electrician now and I honestly think it started in your classroom. Greetings from Glendale.
