Avery T. Newman
Coached boxing for 44 years in San Diego
- 🇺🇸 San Diego, California, United States
- Heritage Sports Club
- Since 1982
- English, French
I've coached boxing at Heritage Sports Club since 1982. Most of my players were between 8 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never raise my voice.
More about Avery
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Avery: Anything sent will buy equipment for the junior team.
