Avery Romero

Master of tailoring, now teaching apprentices

  • 🇺🇸 San Jose, California, United States
  • Oakwood Shop
  • Since 1993
  • English
I've worked in tailoring since 1993. I learned from my mother and passed what I could on to 1,450 apprentices. Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I'm usually the first one in and the last to leave.

More about Avery

Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.

Crafts and trades

What gifts mean to Avery: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
