Atieno Mercy Nakamya
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇹🇿 Dodoma, Dodoma, Tanzania
- Little Sakura Workshop
- 1979 to 1987
- English
I'm a thatching specialist. If you live around Dodoma, there's a good chance I've worked in a building near you.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I always make time for a proper cup of tea.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Atieno: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
