I've coached cycling at Eldoret Community Club since 2003. Most of my players were between 12 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Athumani
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
