Athumani Bakari
Volunteer mentor with Harbor Community Trust
- 🇹🇿 Arusha, Arusha, Tanzania
- Harbor Community Trust
- Since 1979
- English, Spanish
I started mentoring after a colleague did the same for me. Since then I've worked with 890 people through Harbor Community Trust.
Most of my mentees are early in their careers. A few are in their fifties and starting over, and they're some of my favorites.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Athumani
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Athumani: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
