I coached athletics at Liverpool Athletic Club from 1994 to 2007. Most of my players were between 8 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I answered every email, even at midnight.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Ashok
If you played for me, you probably remember the snow day nobody expected.
What gifts mean to Ashok: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
