I've been a nurse for 47 years, most of them in pediatrics at Arlington Regional Medical Center in Arlington. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I garden badly but happily.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
