I taught special education at Amsterdam Academy in Amsterdam from 1980 to 2005. Most days I taught mixed-ability classes, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I coached the school's cross-country squad for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
