I coached cycling at San Francisco Boxing Gym from 2000 to 2012. Most of my players were between 11 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never once raised my voice.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
