I've coached rowing at Maple Ridge Swimming Club since 1987. Most of my players were between 12 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
What gifts mean to Anum: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
