Anisa Hesti Gunawan
Mural painting and calligraphy artist
- 🇮🇩 Malang, East Java, Indonesia
- Old Stonebridge Studio
- Since 1982
- English, Spanish
I work mostly in mural painting, sometimes calligraphy. My first show was in 1982 at Old Stonebridge Studio, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
I never rush a conversation. My studio is always a bit of a mess.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Anisa
If you've bought a piece of mine, thank you. It's on someone's wall and that still amazes me.

What gifts mean to Anisa: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.

I bought one of your pieces in 2025. It's still the first thing I see in the morning Greetings from Gaziantep.
