I taught chemistry at Northside Public School in Soweto from 1993 to 2011. Most days I taught Year 9, and I played music while people worked.
I coached the school's quiz team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Andile
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
