I've coached hockey at Brookfield Swimming Club since 2001. Most of my players were between 8 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learn every name in the first week.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
