Ananya A. Hegde
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇮🇳 Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India
- Little Varanasi Workshop
- Since 1995
- English, Telugu
My trade is thatching. I opened my own shop in 1995 in Varanasi and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I take the work seriously, though not myself.
More about Ananya
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Ananya: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
