Amaya Nadeesha Rathnayake
Painter, potter and teacher at The Colombo Gallery
- 🇱🇰 Colombo, Western, Sri Lanka
- 1994 to 2025
- English
I'm a textiles artist based in Colombo. I've been making things from 1994 to 2025 and I still get excited when a new batch of materials arrives.
Most of my work is inspired by faces I pass in the street. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Amaya
I've had 10 small exhibitions over the years. My favorite was the one with the worst lighting.
Mediums
What gifts mean to Amaya: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
