Amaka Idowu Oyelaran
Self-taught sculpture artist
- 🇳🇬 Enugu, Enugu, Nigeria
- Enugu Gallery
- Since 1990
- English
I work mostly in sculpture, sometimes illustration. My first show was in 1990 at Enugu Gallery, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
I never rush a conversation. My studio is always a bit of a mess.
More about Amaka
I've had 8 small exhibitions over the years. My favorite was the one with the worst lighting.
Mediums
What gifts mean to Amaka: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
