Amaka Adaeze Shittu
Spanish and accounting teacher, Lagos
- 🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria
- Acacia Public School
- Since 2017
- English, Yoruba
I came to teaching late, after working as a night-shift cleaner, and nine years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 270 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Amaka
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Amaka: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
