For 23 years I ran the rowing program at Kharkiv Crescent Athletic Club in Kharkiv. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
I'm still learning every day.
What gifts mean to Alyona: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
