I've coached cricket at Manila Good Shepherd Athletic Club since 1978. Most of my players were between 8 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

If you played for me, you probably remember the quiz night we nearly won.
What gifts mean to Allan: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
