I taught English literature at London Middle School in London from 1978 to 2006. Most days I taught Year 10, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I had 1,060 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.

If you were in my Year 10 class, you probably remember the snow day nobody expected.
