Thatching for 43 years in Medina
- 🇸🇦 Medina, Madinah, Saudi Arabia
- Medina Workshop
- Since 1983
- English
I've worked in thatching since 1983. I learned from my mother and passed what I could on to 1,250 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I try to remember everyone's name.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Ali
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Ali: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
