I've been a nurse for 43 years, most of them in emergency care at Elmwood Maternity Hospital in Houston. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
I try to remember everyone's name. Small things matter when someone is frightened.
If you remember me, I'd love to hear from you.
