I taught biology at San Diego High School in San Diego from 1978 to 2001. Most days I taught the final-year class, and I played music while people worked.
Over the years I had 480 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Alexandra
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the planetarium, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
