I coached chess at Wrocław Redwood Boxing Gym from 2000 to 2011. Most of my players were between 10 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.

What gifts mean to Aleksandra: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
