Akinyi Esther Kimani

Chess coach, Hillcrest Swimming Club

  • 🇹🇿 Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  • Hillcrest Swimming Club
  • 1998 to 2008
  • English, Swahili
I coached chess at Hillcrest Swimming Club from 1998 to 2008. Most of my players were between 8 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life. Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.

More about Akinyi

Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
