Akello Rose Salim
Painter, potter and teacher at Sunrise Print Workshop
- 🇹🇿 Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
- Sunrise Print Workshop
- 1987 to 2012
- English, Swahili
I work mostly in illustration, sometimes mural painting. My first show was in 1987 at Sunrise Print Workshop, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
I'm usually the first one in and the last to leave. My studio is always a bit of a mess.
More about Akello
If you've bought a piece of mine, thank you. It's on someone's wall and that still amazes me.
What gifts mean to Akello: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
